The 3-day face diet is ideal for those who wish to prepare for a special event such as a wedding and look their best. This diet will give you a beautiful supple skin, and it is not difficult to follow as it is only for 3 days. Dr. Perricone’s book, The Perricone Prescription also contains a 28 day facelift eating plan, but some people find that too hard to follow and prefer to go for the 3 day plan. The 3 day face diet is also an excellent way to jumpstart the 28 day plan.
The diet consists of eating mainly salmon for the three days. Dr. Perricone recommends Wild Alaskan salmon which is rich in essential fatty acids which will help reduce wrinkles and puffiness. Berries also play an important part in the diet, as they are tremendous sources of antioxidants, and one of the best foods you can eat for your health in general.
Breakfasts
Chose 1 breakfast for each of the 3 days.
Half a cup of rolled oats and water, with plenty of berries added.
3 egg omelet with optional added spinach
4-6 oz of grilled salmon. (Smoked salmon and Lox are not recommended due to the high salt content).
A 2 inch wedge of cantaloupe or a third of a cup of mixed berries.
Lunch
Lunch should be the following for each of the three days.
4-6 oz. grilled salmon with lemon dressing a small amount of mayonnaise if desired.
2 cups of green salad with extra virgin olive oil and fresh squeezed lemon to taste.
1 kiwi fruit, or cantaloupe, or mixed berries (as for breakfast).
Afternoon Snack
Choose 1 snack each day from the following.
1 apple
60z. Plain Yogurt
2 oz. slice of turkey breast
Small handful of hazelnuts, walnuts or almonds.
Dinner
Lunch should be the following for each of the three days.
4-6 oz. grilled salmon with lemon dressing a small amount of mayonnaise if desired.
2 cups of green salad with extra virgin olive oil and fresh squeezed lemon to taste.
1 kiwi fruit, or cantaloupe, or mixed berries (as for breakfast).
Dinner
Dinner should be the following for each of the three days.
4-6 oz. grilled salmon
Green salad as for lunch
Half a cup steamed vegetables. Especially asparagus, broccoli, spinach, etc.
(Root vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots, beets, parsnips, are NOT permitted on the face diet).
Cantaloupe and mixed berries.
Before Bedtime Snack
Choose 1 snack each day from the following.
1 pear or apple
2 oz. slice chicken or turkey breast or 6 oz. plain yogurt
Small handful of hazelnuts, walnuts or almonds.
During the diet you should drink 12oz. of spring water or green tea at each meal.
This diet will not only improve your skin tone and diminish your wrinkles, but a nice side effect is you will also lose weight. Vegetarians can also follow the diet and replace the salmon for tofu.
